Timelined v1.3.0 focuses on the photos and attachments that help bring an event to life.
This update makes image-rich timelines easier to browse, introduces a more complete way to export events with associated files, and improves how newly added images are stored.
Image thumbnails in Timeline views
You can now choose to display image thumbnails alongside events in the Timeline views.
Dates and descriptions tell part of an event's story, but sometimes a photo is the quickest way to recognise a particular moment. Thumbnails add that visual context directly to the timeline, making events easier to identify while you browse.
The option can be enabled when you want a more visual timeline or left disabled if you prefer the existing text-focused presentation.
Export events as TextBundle
A new Export to TextBundle option is available for events containing photos or file attachments.
A TextBundle keeps a Markdown document and its associated assets together in a single portable package. When you export an event, Timelined creates a Markdown file for its written content and includes an assets folder containing the related photos and documents.
This provides a more complete export than a standalone text file and makes it easier to move an event into compatible writing, notes or archive tools without separating its content from its supporting files.
Improved image optimisation
Images added to Timelined are now deliberately optimised to prevent unnecessarily large source images from consuming excessive storage space.
The aim is to retain the visual value of your event photos while keeping the size of your Timelined data more manageable, particularly as a timeline grows and accumulates more images.
